Why October Is a Great Time to Visit Hull
October is a busy month in Hull this year, with Hull Fair back in the city, Peter Kay playing four charity shows at Connexin Live, and a good run of Halloween events towards the end of the month.
If you're thinking about an autumn break in Hull, here's what's on this October…
Hull Fair 2026
From Friday 9th October to Saturday 17th October, Hull Fair is back for its annual run. It's one of the largest travelling funfairs in Europe and has been part of Hull's calendar for centuries. The fair draws visitors from across the region, and the city has a great atmosphere around it during that week. An evening visit is the way to go once the lights are on and everything is in full swing.
Peter Kay at Connexin Live
Peter Kay is bringing the final performances of his Better Late Than Never tour to Connexin Live on 10th and 11th October, with four special charity shows across the weekend, with profits going to The Lily Foundation, Maggie's, and The Be More Laura Foundation. If you haven't managed to catch the tour yet, this is your last chance. Tickets are available through the Connexin Live box office.
Hull Horror Fest
On Saturday 24th October, Costello Stadium hosts Hull Horror Fest, a horror convention with special guest actors from classic horror cinema and over 50 stalls from artists, authors, and alternative culture. Check the event page for tickets and guest announcements.
Halloween in Hull
If you're visiting Hull at the end of October, there's plenty to fill your evening on Halloween night itself.
The Lost Boys Outdoor Cinema takes place at Burton Constable Hall and Parkland on Saturday 31st October, kicking off at 7:15pm. It's a great venue just outside the city and a brilliant setting for an outdoor Halloween screening. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
Later that night, Waterfront Hull on Dagger Lane is hosting Hallowscream from 10pm, billed as Hull's biggest Halloween party. Tickets are available in advance or on the door if you fancy making a full night of it.
