Christmas Events in Hull 2026 Worth Staying For

From festive markets in the Old Town to pantos, live concerts, and ice shows, Christmas in Hull has plenty to fill a weekend (or a whole week). If you're planning a festive trip to the city this year, here are the events we think are worth booking a stay around, all within easy reach of Hideout.

Hull's Christmas Festival and Light Switch-On

The season officially gets going on Thursday 19th November with the Christmas Light Switch-On in the city centre, followed by Hull's Christmas Festival from 19th to 22nd November. Expect a Christmas market, fairground rides, festive food and drink, and live entertainment throughout the weekend. Families can also catch the Santa Arrival Parade at Princes Quay on Sunday 22nd November. You'll find the full programme on the Visit Hull Christmas page.

Hull's German Christmas Market

Taking place at the Federation of Sport, Hull's German Christmas Market runs every Saturday and Sunday from 28th November. Filled with festive stalls, seasonal treats, food and drink, live music, and plenty of Christmas cheer, it's the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere during your stay. On 28th November, the Victorian Christmas Market at Hull Minster is just a few minutes' walk from our front door, too.

Good Things Market Christmas Weekender

For something a little more independent, the Good Things Market returns with its Christmas Market Weekender on 5th and 6th December. Hull's modern makers' market is packed with local traders selling handmade gifts, art, homeware, and festive treats, so it's a great chance to pick up presents you won't find anywhere else.

Festive Shows at Connexin Live

Connexin Live has a strong line-up this festive season, including Bill Bailey's new show, Vaudevillean, on 4th December. Tony Hadley brings The Christmas Big Band Tour to the arena on 25th November, and on 8th December you can watch Home Alone on the big screen with a live orchestra performing John Williams' score. The Holiday In Concert follows on 12th December, and younger visitors will love Snow White on Ice from 18th to 20th December. See the full listings on the Connexin Live website.

Panto and Christmas Shows at Hull's Theatres

No Christmas trip is complete without a panto, and The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan takes over Hull New Theatre from 10th to 31st December. Over at Hull City Hall, December brings Step Into Christmas on the 6th, Christmas Memories on the 7th, and Christmas in Ireland on the 11th. Browse everything that's on at Hull Theatres.

Middle Child's A Christmas Carol at Social

Middle Child's festive panto is a firm favourite in Hull, and this year it's a fresh take on A Christmas Carol at Social on Humber Street. There are family-friendly matinees and late-night adult shows running from 16th to 29th December, and the venue is a short walk from Hideout, so you can head straight back to your apartment afterwards. Social also has gigs on throughout December, which you can find on the Social Humber Street website.

Give the Gift of a Stay

If you're stuck for Christmas presents, a Hideout gift voucher makes a thoughtful gift for friends or family. Vouchers can be redeemed any time within 12 months, and we can post a complimentary luxury gift box straight to the recipient, so there's something lovely to open on Christmas morning.
