Back by popular demand, Middle Child’s annual panto takes over Social on Humber Street from 18th to 29th December. This year’s show, The Wizard of Oz, is full of cheeky jokes and sing-alongs.

Afterwards, wander back to Hideout and warm up in your cosy apartment with a hot chocolate or something a little stronger.

Home Alone in Concert

If you’re all about festive films, Home Alone in Concert at Connexin Live on 10th December is a must. The International Film Orchestra will perform John Williams’ famous score live as the movie plays on the big screen. It’s a perfect night out for families staying at Hideout.

Good Things Market

Get your Christmas shopping sorted in one go at the winter edition of the Good Things Market on Sunday 7th December. Head down to Queen Street in Hull’s Fruit Market between 10:30 and 4:00 for creative stalls and plenty of local makers.

With around 45 stalls from Hull, Yorkshire, and beyond, it’s the perfect place to pick up something unique. From handmade jewellery to baked treats, there’s something for everyone on your list.

Beverley Festival of Christmas

A short drive from Hull, the Beverley Festival of Christmas returns on 14th December for its 29th year. The town transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with more than 120 stalls, brass bands, reindeer, and fairground rides.

It’s the kind of event that captures what Christmas in Yorkshire is all about. You can spend the morning browsing gifts and the afternoon enjoying festive food before heading back to Hideout.

York Christmas Market

If you fancy a day out, the York Christmas Market runs from 13th November to 21st December. Just over an hour from Hull, York’s streets are lined with wooden chalets selling everything from mulled wine to hand-crafted gifts.

It’s one of the UK’s best Christmas markets and perfect for families who want to explore a bit more of Yorkshire.
