Your Boutique Escape to Hull’s Old Town

Located in the heart of the old town, Hideout Hotel is situated perfectly to give you the perfect getaway destination. Our boutique hotel offers the ultimate home away from home experience, complete with intimate views of Hull Minster and Trinity Square. If you’re planning a trip to Hull this April, here’s how you could plan your boutique escape to Hull’s Old Town.

Explore the Heart of Hull’s History

As a city, Hull is rich in history. Hull has best been known as a maritime city in the past thanks to the booming fishing industry and the port. The position on the Humber Estuary made Hull one of the most important ports in the UK. By the end of the 18th century, Hull was the largest whaling port in the country and was one of the major fishing centres in the late 19th century.

Hull’s Old Town isn’t short of history either and, being right on our doorstep, it’s the perfect place to explore during your visit to the city. Not too far from our hotel is High Street, Hull’s oldest street dating back to the medieval period. High Street originally had a mixture of merchant homes, warehouses and (of course) pubs. High Street is now home to a number of beautiful,  independent pubs and has recently been used as a filming location for a number of TV shows and films.

Just across the road from Hideout is Trinity Square and Hull Minster. Dating back to the 1300s, Hull Minster is as old as Hull itself, and it’s where William Wilberforce was baptised. Just opposite the Minster is one of the most picturesque streets in Hull - Prince Street, showcasing Hull’s Georgian architecture.
